San Antonio and the ride home

San Antonio was good to us and a great last destination for this road trip. It was a long days drive from Big Bend and we thought about breaking the drive into two stays and stopping somewhere unplanned on our route but after further thought we decided to leave earlier, push through to do all the driving in a day and have an extra night in San Antonio.  It turned out to be a good plan.

Four Great days in Big Bend National Park…

Our Family spent 4 days in Big Bend National Park and it was awesome. With the park being so large, it’s a decent drive between locations inside the park itself.  But in doing so, you really see it all.  Big Bend offers almost every scenery you can image.  There are deep canyons along the Rio Grande, vast deserts, tall mountains and bright stars at night.

Hot Springs National Park and the start of our 2025 Spring roadtrip

After a few years of focusing more on international travel for the family and the camper only being used for local recreation activity, we dusted off it’s long haul abilities and hit the road again for a two and 1/2 week adventure to some of the desert lands of the United States that we’d not explored yet.  This trip was actually on our list to do in 2020 but didn’t happen for obvious reasons.

Amarillo by...midday??

Yesterday was a driving day.  We waited on the storms to clear for a bit in the morning and then started making our way up through Texas.  On our way out of Waco we indulged in kolaches (that spelling is probably WAY off) which is a fancy name for a big ‘ol pig-in-a blanket and are oh so divine.
