Waco Bound

Co Captain’s log, Day 2.

Ruston, Louisiana is a nice little stop in the road.  We took a 12 hour break and we are back at it.

I should stop here and let you all know that it’s Meagan typing this blog as not to alarm you with confusion when I shout I’M GOING TO MAGNOLIA TODAY!  I know, I know, Fixer Upper is a bunch of trendy hype blah blah blah.  Hear me when I say this: I DON’T CARE, I LOVE IT!  Today is the day I make my pilgrimage to Magnolia to pay homage to the God’s of design and family time (if you don’t know us, please note that this sentence is complete sarcasm…mostly).

You see, Chip and Joanna are my best friends (they just don’t know it yet).  I not so secretly hope that we run into them today and they ask to see our renovated camper, and then we’ll start to talk about renovating houses and house flipping and one thing will lead to another and by the time it’s all over, BAM we’re besties and our kids are hanging out and we’re all loving Jesus and decorating together. I realize it’s the longest shot in the World but let a girl have her dream!

After I geek out over the Magnolia insanity we have another truly special part of the trip; we get a few days with our friends Clay and Jenni.  One thing you need to know here, Clay is one lucky lucky man to have Jenni as his wife and a new baby girl that we can’t wait to meet!  The first thing Clay ever said to me back in 2008 was “What’s your name? Never mind, actually I don’t care enough to add it to my memory.”  That is the day I learned that Clay is deeply learned in the gift of sarcasm…or that Evan has really mean friends.  Gray was just a few months old when Clay and Jenni got married and now they are brave enough to open their home to all 5 of us.  I’m sure they would covet your prayers!

Get ready for the overload of pictures from the Waco madness.  We’re back on the road Jack.  Texas bound.  YeHaw!!
